THE STUDIO

Acupuncture is offered in a multi-bed setting, which means that there will be more people treated at the same time as you. If you need women or men only space, please let us know in advance. Treatments will be performed in an open space with up to 4 beds and a maximum of 2 acupuncturists. You will never be left alone.

FIRST TREATMENT

At the initial consultation, your acupuncturist will ask you about your main complaint and will gather further information regarding your health before inserting the needles. You might require other therapies alongside acupuncture, this could include: heat therapy (moxibustion or infra-red lamp), cupping, gua sha or electro-acupuncture. Once the needles are in, you will rest for about 30 minutes while your practitioner is treating other patients. Everything will be explained to you before the treatment.

FOLLOW UP TREATMENTS

It is likely you will need more than one treatment. The number of treatments and frequency will depend on the severity of your condition and your cooperation to make nutritional and lifestyle changes.  Ideally, your acupuncturist would like to see you once a week to see how your body responds to the treatment. Once there are improvements, visits can be made at longer intervals.
